Morgan Stanley has hired Emma Taylor from Barclays to co-lead its global internet investment banking division, according to sources familiar with the matter. Taylor is expected to join after finishing her garden leave. She will be based in New York and will serve alongside Bobby Shoraka in her new role.
Taylor joined Barclays in 2023 from Goldman Sachs, where she spent more than a decade. At Barclays, she co-headed internet investment banking and advised on major deals including Hinge Health’s initial public offering and other transactions in the internet sector.
Morgan Stanley and Barclays declined to comment on the move. The hiring takes place amid a rise in technology dealmaking and equity capital markets activity, with Wall Street firms competing for senior talent in the field.
Taylor’s appointment reflects Morgan Stanley’s focus on strengthening its position in internet investment banking. Her background in high-growth technology companies and experience at major banks is expected to support the firm’s expanding tech-related deals globally.
