In his statement released by Cricket Australia, Starc emphasized his commitment to Test cricket, calling it his highest priority. Looking ahead, Starc expressed his focus on key upcoming events such as the away Test tour in India, the Ashes series starting on November 21 in Brisbane, and the 2027 ODI World Cup. He believes retiring from T20 internationals will help him stay fresh and fit for these campaigns.
Starc’s retirement from T20 internationals also creates space for emerging fast bowlers to prepare for the next T20 World Cup. Notably, he was not named in Australia’s T20 squad for the upcoming series against New Zealand.
