Meanwhile, reports indicate that Oba Femi, a former North American champion from WWE’s NXT brand, has been absent from events and television tapings for about a month. After losing his title to Tony D’Angelo at Halloween Havoc and dropping the rematch shortly after, Femi has not appeared on NXT since. The reason behind his absence is unclear. It may be a break to reset after significant losses, consideration for injury recovery, or preparation for a main roster call-up. Since debuting in April 2023, Femi had a strong run, including winning the NXT Breakout Tournament and holding the North American Championship for 272 days, a record length. When he returns, he is expected to be a major contender for the NXT Championship.
