When asked about the shift in plans that saw him face Cody Rhodes rather than The Rock, Reigns said he did not mind. He emphasized that being in the main event was what mattered most to him.
Reigns said, "It doesn’t matter to me. I was the main event. I’m the guy that everyone wanted to dance with. It’s where, we just need to get there and defend this thing. It didn’t matter who it is." He described the challenge as consistent regardless of the opponent, pointing out that others were trying to stop him and "take us off the pinnacle."
The storyline around WrestleMania 40 featured twists. After Rhodes won the 2024 men’s Royal Rumble, he initially said he would not challenge Reigns for the WWE Championship at the event. Instead, The Rock appeared set for that match. But fan reactions caused Rhodes to change course, turning The Rock heel as "The Final Boss" and aligning him with Reigns. The Rock and Reigns teamed up to defeat Rhodes and Seth Rollins on Night 1, while Rhodes defeated Reigns for the title on Night 2. Reigns also addressed the possibility of a future match with The Rock. He stated that if fans demonstrate strong interest and The Rock is willing, WWE could make it happen. "If that’s what the people want and The People’s Champ is down, I’m sure we can make something happen," Reigns said. Boxer Tommy Fury Signals Interest in WWE
Tommy Fury, professional boxer and younger brother of Tyson Fury, recently hinted at a possible future in WWE. He shared a video on YouTube after attending a WWE show in the UK, where he met several WWE Superstars including Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Gunther.
Fury said, "Thank you to the WWE for showing us such appreciation. And I look forward to possibly climbing through them ropes one day. Who knows?" His comments suggest he might explore a career in pro wrestling.
Tommy Fury holds a 10-0 boxing record and is noted for his victory over Jake Paul. Given his connection to the Paul family and Logan Paul’s current WWE status, a storyline featuring the Fury brothers against the Paul brothers could appeal to mainstream audiences.
Oba Femi Absent From NXT Following Losses
Reports indicate that Oba Femi, former NXT North American Champion, has not appeared at recent NXT tapings. Since his loss to Tony D’Angelo at Halloween Havoc on October 27, Femi has been off television.
Femi rose quickly after debuting on NXT in April 2023, winning the NXT Breakout Tournament and capturing the North American title. However, he lost the championship to D’Angelo after a 272-day reign, the longest in NXT history. He also lost the immediate rematch at Halloween Havoc.
His absence could be for many reasons. It might allow Femi time to recover from injuries or to reset creatively after his recent defeats. Another possibility is that WWE is preparing to call him up to the main roster. For now, no official word has been given on his status.
