Measles Case Confirmed in Maryland Resident After International Travel

Baltimore—The Maryland Department of Health has confirmed a case of measles in a resident who recently traveled outside the United States. Authorities are advising Marylanders to review possible exposure times, watch for symptoms, and verify that their vaccinations are up to date.

Health officials identified specific locations and times where exposure may have occurred. These include Dulles International Airport (IAD) on June 17, 2026. The affected areas at the airport were Concourse C international arriving corridors, transportation routes to the International Arrivals Building (IAB), and the baggage claim area between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Another exposure site is Mary’s Center Adams Morgan Clinic, located at 2333 Ontario Road NW in Washington, D.C. The potential exposure window at the clinic was from 4 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on the same day.

Measles symptoms often start with a fever over 101 degrees Fahrenheit, runny nose, cough, and red, watery eyes. A person with measles can spread the illness beginning four days before the rash appears and up to four days after the rash begins.

This is the fourth confirmed case of measles in Maryland in 2026. The department urges anyone who visited the listed locations during the specified times to monitor their health closely and seek medical advice if symptoms develop.

Residents should ensure they have received the recommended measles vaccination to protect themselves and others. The department continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as needed.
